You asked, customers answered
Will it actually hold my kneecap in place?
That is the P3's whole job. The patella pad and corrective strap guide the kneecap back into its natural path and keep it there as you move, and you can adjust the strap until the support feels right.
“This provides the support my knee needs and holds my kneecap in the correct place. I could immediately walk again and cycle in the gym.”
Product details
The knee support for kneecap pain and instability, including patellofemoral pain, runner's knee and jumper's knee.
If your kneecap keeps pulling out of line, it rubs and grinds where it shouldn't, causing the nagging ache behind or around the knee that gets worse on stairs, running or sitting for long periods. The GenuTrain P3 is built to guide the kneecap back into its natural path and hold it there. Its Patella Pad with corrective strap applies gentle, adjustable pressure toward the inside of the knee, exactly where a drifting kneecap needs it most, so you feel the support working from the moment you put it on.
As you move, the pad's proximal wing activates the vastus medialis, the inner thigh muscle that helps keep the kneecap centred and stable. Two textured contact points on the pad, known as Hoffa Spots, work on the fat pad just below the kneecap during movement to help ease pain in this commonly sensitive area. A further pad on the outer thigh takes tension off the iliotibial band (the connective tissue running down the outside of the leg), reducing the sideways pull on the kneecap even further.
The textured, high-low knit fabric massages the tissue with every step, encouraging circulation and helping calm inflammation and swelling around the joint. Silicone dots along the top edge keep the support from slipping during activity, while flexible plastic side stays add stability without restricting how the knee bends. Built-in pull tabs make it easy to get on, and a soft comfort zone at the back of the knee means no rubbing or pinching, even with the knee fully bent.
Available in sizes 1 to 7, left or right, in Beige, Black or Titan. Not sure which size you need? Use the size finder above, or open the Sizing & fit tab for the full chart.

Patella Pad with Corrective Strap:
Ring-shaped silicone pad that surrounds the kneecap, with an adjustable strap that applies medial (inward) guidance to counteract lateral drift and rotation.
Proximal Wing:
Extension of the pad that stimulates the vastus medialis, the inner thigh muscle responsible for centring the kneecap.
Hoffa Spots:
Two textured contact points below the kneecap that work on Hoffa's fat pad, a common pain trigger point, during movement.
Iliotibial Band Pad:
Additional pad on the outer thigh that reduces tension on the iliotibial band and the sideways pull it places on the kneecap.
High-Low Train Knit:
Breathable, moisture-wicking knit with a textured structure that gives an intermittent compression massage with every step.

Common questions
The things people ask us most before ordering.
What happens if I order the wrong size?
Send it back within 30 days for a full refund, or email orders@jointoperations.co.uk and we'll swap it for the right size.
Measuring before you order is the quickest route - the size finder on this page turns two tape-measure numbers into a size in about twenty seconds.
Can I wear it under clothing?
Yes. The knit is low-profile and designed to sit under trousers, leggings or a tracksuit without bunching. Most people wear it all day without anyone noticing.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with any fasteners closed. No fabric softener and no tumble drying - dry it flat, away from direct heat.
Washing it regularly actually helps: it lifts the body oils out of the knit and the compression holds its shape for longer.
How long should I wear it for?
Most people wear a support during activity and take it off to sleep. If a clinician recommended it to you, follow their guidance - they'll have a plan for your particular situation.
If you've bought it yourself for ongoing pain and you're not sure, it's worth getting the underlying problem looked at rather than relying on the support alone.
When will it arrive?
Standard delivery takes 3-4 working days and is free on orders over £95. Order before 12:30pm Monday to Thursday for next-day delivery.
Orders placed before 12:30pm on a working day are dispatched the same day; after the cut-off, or at the weekend, they go out on the next working day.
Can I claim it back on insurance or through work?
Some private health policies and occupational health schemes cover orthopaedic supports when they've been recommended by a clinician. We can send an itemised VAT invoice for your claim - just email us with your order number.
Can I buy wholesale for my clinic or shop?
Yes. We're the UK distributor for Bauerfeind, and we supply retailers, clinics, pharmacies and physiotherapy practices directly. Send us a trade enquiry and we'll come back with pricing and account terms.
